Directions to get to COMSYS

Comsys HomeBy Train:

COMSYS is only a short distance away from London and on one of the main local lines out of the capital. To get to us:

  1. Take a taxi or the tube (London Underground) to Kings Cross Station. If you are coming on the tube, get off at Kings Cross and follow the signs for St Pancras (Kings Cross is being re-modelled at present). The St Pancras station is about 50 yards behind the mainline Kings Cross station. If you are coming by taxi, ask the driver to drop you off at Kings Cross (this is London, the taxi drivers know where they are going!).
  2. Purchase a ticket (you can usually find a roving ticket chap inside the station if you come from the tube side rather than the front entrance). Tickets cost approximately £5.00 ($8.00).
  3. Catch a train to St Albans (going North). Trains leave regularly every 30 minutes and come in two flavours - fast (20 minutes) or slow (30 minutes). It's best just to catch the first one that comes along.
  4. Sit back and enjoy the transition from dirty old London to the charm of the Hertfordshire countryside.
  5. Get off at St Albans station and outside catch a taxi to 42 Holywell Hill - we are directly opposite the "Cafe Rouge". There are almost always taxis waiting, but if not they come along regularly. The taxi fare is approximately £3.00 ($5.00) and the route takes less than five minutes. If there are no taxis, give us a call on 832288 (no need for the 01727 code if you are calling from a local payphone, but you will need it if you are using a cellular phone) and we will come and get you.

By Car:

Getting to us by car is just as easy. St Albans in located just off the major M25 and M1 motorways. From Heathrow:

  1. Leave Heathrow airport travelling North on the M25. It will be signed to Watford/M40.
  2. Stay on the M25 past the Watford junctions until you reach Junction 21A which is signed St Albans.

From London:

  1. Travel North on the M1 Motorway.
  2. Get off at Junction 6 which is signed St Albans/M25. Junction 6 sounds a long way, but in actual fact (for some strange reason) it is the second junction you can get off on the M1 and is only about 15 miles from the start of the motorway.

The following directions are then applicable for everyone:

  1. Follow the signs for St Albans. There are several roads into the city, but they all lead into our street which is the main road into St Albans. The following directions should make things easier for you, but really all you need to do is follow the signs.
  2. After the motorway round-about, the second round-about has a Shell Petrol (Gas) Station take the left hand (first) exit signed to Chiswell Green/St Albans.
  3. This joins on to the B4630 which eventually becomes Holywell Hill. Just keep on going. You will cross several more round-abouts, several of which are almost joined together and then pass down a steep hill (St Stephens Hill). At the bottom of St Stephens Hill you pass straight over the round-about and start to climb up Holywell Hill. You will see a Jet petrol station on your right hand side as you start to go up Holywell Hill.
  4. Approximately half way up the hill, look for the first set of traffic lights which are immediately outside our front door.
  5. Parking: There is parking on the left of Holywell Hill as you come up the road. Pick any spot you see because we are not far. If you cannot find something, just before the traffic lights/crossing, there is a road, Albert Street, on the right and there is parking down this street.
